This site is a direct result of the mind blowing success of Alex's The Million Dollar Homepage.
I knew I had to do something about it, but I couldn't see myself just dumb-ass copying his idea like many others did (and good luck to them...).
I was thinking: Alex's site has this one drawback: a person can pay $100 and can barely be seen.
So I thought: lets give the advertisers some added value - a chance to be on top, to publicize themselves better than their competitors.
Some historical perspective: I truly believe that we are witnessing a whole new way of advertising on the net.
Alex invented it and hopefully King of the Hill will be a close second.
Once you buy your place on my Hill, you are guaranteed a place for at least 5 years.
My goal is to keep this site running as long as I can after that, depending of-course on your support.
You will be a part of advertising history of the web of which people will be talking about for years,
plus you will get many many clicks for even a small amount you invest today.
The placement works like this:
Each banner is placed in a descending order according to the amount invested in it.
The highest ranking banner on top and then from left to right 2 banners in the second level, 3 on the next, 4 on the next... you get the picture.
Also: On each level the banners become smaller:
The King of the Hill has a banner 400X80 pixels, the second row will have 295X59 etc. (but keeping the ratio of width vs. height)
On the left of each row there will be the highest amount paid on that row.
You can decide to invest however much you want for your place on my Hill.
The more you invest the better chance you have of staying on top.

Getting a place on my Hill is very simple:

When you receive the confirmation message, send an image sized 400X80, a Target URL and ToolTip text to kingofthehill.newbuz@gmail.com.
Also include the transaction ID so that I can confirm the payment.
Once I have confirmed the payment and received the the message I will resize your image to 400X80 if it's a different size, and place it according to the rank it has at the moment of insertion.
The image will be scaled according to the place it reaches.
Banners submitted with the same $ amount will be ordered according to who got there first.
The size of the banners at each level will be set according to how the site looks so that none of the banners disappear outside the browser window when opened to a reasonable size.

I decided to set the low limit for payments to $25 because I didn't want advertisers to start a dime and nickel war over who is on top, thereby driving me crazy.
